Our Story
In 2018, the staff and students of Bellcate School—a therapeutic school serving students with disabilities in Vermont—set out to tackle a challenge: the barriers to meaningful employment faced by our students.
Over the next six years, we built a dynamic workplace that not only teaches life and job skills through the making of high-quality dog treats, but also wholly relies on the incredible skills and talents of contributors of all abilities. With the support of our greater community, it became clear that we had launched something truly special:
Good Jobs, Good treats!
By 2024, we began expanding our impact beyond Bellcate School. As our dog treat business and community grew, we partnered with area school districts, colleges, and local organizations to create paid internships, work experiences, and competitive employment opportunities for youth with disabilities. What started with Bellcate had grown into something bigger—and so, Unified Dog Treats was born.
At Unified Dog Treats, we bring people together. Our workplace is built on acceptance, inclusion, and the belief that everyone’s contributions matter. This unity—people working side by side toward a shared goal—is the true recipe behind both our success and our treats.

Vision & Values
What started as a way to empower youth with disabilities has grown into a community dedicated to supporting one another and making meaningful impact wherever we can. Through our Treat it Forward program, we donate a pound of dog treats for every 3 or more bags of treats purchased. Our Treat it Forward nonprofit partners include local animal shelters and pet food shelves.
